Nokia Zeta with Symbian Belle poses for the camera

Nokia's upcoming Symbian portfolio leaked out in a lot of detail recently, but up until now we haven't seen a single picture of the future devices. That changes as an anonymous tipster shared images of the Nokia Zeta with tech blog GSM Arena. That's one of four leaked Symbian devices sharing a 1GHz chip and nHD displays, but this one claims to stand out with a very thin profile and light weight. We should mention, though, that Zeta is only the codename for the handset, which appeared as the Nokia 700 earlier, so Nokia could well pick a different name for the final device.

The Nokia Zeta comes with a 3.2-inch nHD display measuring only 0.39” (10mm) in thickness and 2.82 ounces in terms of weight. That's pretty thin, but still far from initial reports about the handset expected to trump all other phones as the thinnest out there. There is a 5-megapixel camera with LED flash, but it's not yet clear whether it will be of the auto-focus of EDoF variety. All clues, however, point to a fixed-focus unit as that's what Nokia has been using in its latest Symbian phones like the Nokia X7 and Nokia E6.

The Zeta is running on Symbian Belle, the yet unreleased second-major update to Symbian^3. It also comes with NFC support, a feature Nokia seems to be pushing strongly after unveiling the Nokia N9 and a bunch of NFC-enabled accessories. The phone supports HSPA downloads at 10.2Mbps or 14.4Mbps and uploads of up to 5.76Mbps. Finally, the battery on the Zeta is a 1080mAh one, which paired with the comparatively small screen and battery-savvy Symbian should provide a couple of days of solid use.
